Hilo challenges

I was cold during the last challenge. What should I do?

You can personalize every Hilo challenge you participate in. If your home got too cold during the last challenge, choose the preheat option so the set temperature of your thermostats will increase automatically two hours before the next Hilo challenge. You’ll accumulate heat in your rooms before the challenge begins to be more comfortable.

You can also take part in challenges as a moderate participant and choose to keep the temperature a little higher during challenges or exclude a thermostat from the challenge by increasing the set temperature manually. You’ll still be participating in the challenge but your results make be affected.

How? Let Hilo walk you through the steps.

  • Adjust your settings for a morning Hilo challenge (optional preheating phase from 4 a.m. to 6 a.m., reduction phase from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m.)
  • Adjust your settings for an evening Hilo challenge (optional preheating phase from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., reduction phase from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.)

The recovery phase happens from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. for a morning challenge and 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. for an evening challenge. You have nothing to configure for this phase.
