Sinopé Wi-Fi water heater controller: Calypso – Smart Water Heater Controller
Sinopé Lite thermostats, due to their smaller screen, do not display the outdoor temperature. They also offer an accuracy of 1 degree, compared to 0.5 degrees for Hilo thermostats and Sinopé’s standard and next-generation models.
All Sinopé thermostats are more compact than Hilo thermostats, so they may not fully cover the wall surface currently hidden by your existing thermostat. It’s also important to make sure that the Wi-Fi signal is strong enough in every room where a Sinopé thermostat will be installed.
Once the thermostats are installed, the experience in the Hilo app will be similar across Sinopé and Hilo models for the following features:
However, it’s not possible to create scenes in the Hilo app (custom temperature settings for one or more thermostats in specific rooms) with Sinopé thermostats. If you want to set up a scene with a Sinopé baseboard thermostat, you can do so in the manufacturer’s Neviweb app.
Compare with the Hilo thermostat for electric baseboard and convection heaters
Your experience will be almost identical. Sinopé water heater controllers are smaller, but they offer the same features as Hilo controllers. The only exception is scene programming that involves turning your water heater on or off — that has to be done in the manufacturer’s Neviweb app instead of the Hilo app.
When you placed your order, the devices scheduled for installation were Hilo products. However, due to a stock shortage caused by high demand, Hilo is offering to maintain your original installation appointment by installing devices from a partner brand instead.
Since these devices are not the ones you originally ordered, we are required to obtain your explicit consent before installing them. If you prefer to wait for Hilo-brand smart thermostats for electric baseboards and convectors, or a Hilo water heater controller, you can also choose to postpone your appointment at no cost.
If we don’t receive your consent in response to the email, your installation appointment will be cancelled and you’ll need to schedule a new one at a later date. To do so, please contact Hilo’s customer service team at 438-289-HILO (4456) or toll-free at 1-844-500-HILO (4456).
Based on our current estimates, Hilo baseboard thermostats are expected to be back in stock in the first quarter of 2026, and Hilo water heater controllers are anticipated at the start of Q2.
Yes, the applicable warranty is also three years.
