Preheating is a feature designed to help you stay comfortable during a peak demand event — without affecting your results. When preheating is enabled, the temperature settings on your connected thermostats are gradually increased in the hours leading up to a peak event, allowing your home to store more heat. This is why your heating system may turn on before a peak demand event begins.
Preheating is turned on for each connected thermostat by default.
How to turn preheating on or off
- Open the Hilo app
- Tap Events in the bottom navigation bar to open the My events page
- Select Manage my event settings
- Adjust your preheating settings for each thermostat
