1 You must accept the Participant Agreement and commit to 12 months of automation during peak demand events.
2 Financial assistance is offered to Hilo participants who meet and accept the terms of the financial assistance program. To qualify, participants must add all eligible connected devices to the Hilo app and commit to participate in automation during peak demand events for a 12-month period. Financial assistance will be issued to the client within a few weeks after their devices are connected to Hilo and the financial assistance agreement is accepted. Financial assistance is issued only once per eligible connected device. The number of devices eligible for financial assistance is limited. For more details, see the financial assistance program. 3 The average potential savings amount is based on the actual consumption of Hilo customers using a smart heating solution, across all device and housing types, calculated according to the Rate Flex D pricing in effect at the time. This average is derived from data spanning the last three winter seasons (2022–2025) and is calculated on the basis of 100 hours of participation or 25 peak demand events. Potential savings represent the difference between Rate Flex D and the base rate (Rate D), including applicable taxes. Savings with the smart heating solution may vary depending on factors such as the exact number of thermostats associated with the solution, home characteristics, energy-use habits, the rate of participation in peak demand events, and weather conditions.

During peak demand events, Hilo manages your connected thermostats according to your preferences. Outside of these times, you can control them remotely via either the Hilo app or the Honeywell Home app, depending on the thermostat model you own.

How to use your Honeywell Home thermostats with Hilo
Once you’ve signed up for Hilo, installed the Hilo app and hub, and set up your Honeywell Home thermostats, simply add them to the Hilo app.

Hydro-Québec offers a bonus of up to $210 per eligible Hilo-compatible device. The bonus will be issued via Interac e-Transfer within three months after you connect your device to Hilo and accept the financial assistance agreement.
No. Hilo does not offer installation services for other manufacturers' devices.
