What is the temperature maintenance period?

This article is intended for customers enrolled in Hydro‑Québec’s Flex D rate.

On the day of a morning peak demand event, if a scene that lowers the temperature overnight is active, a temperature maintenance period will automatically start before the scheduled preheating phase in rooms where preheating is enabled. From 1 a.m. to 4 a.m., the temperature on those thermostats is adjusted to offset the effects of the overnight setback, ensuring the upcoming preheating phase can work effectively.

This “extension” of the preheating phase will appear in the app (from 1 a.m. to 4 a.m.) for all customers it applies to: the affected thermostats (those with preheating enabled) will show the Event in progress status (pink interface).

Important: Avoid adjusting your thermostats when they display Event in progress.
