No. You’re always in control of your devices.

Hilo adjusts your smart devices during peak demand events based on the participation mode you’ve selected or when a scene you’ve created is activated. We always let you know in advance when a peak event is coming up.

At any time, you can:

• Opt out of an automation
• Adjust your devices manually
• Change your settings

No setting is permanent, and you always have the final say.

What Hilo can do

• Make it easier to reduce your electricity use during key periods
• Help you save on your winter electricity bill with optional automations, such as scenes

What Hilo doesn’t do

• Take control of your home without giving you the option to step in
• Change your settings without letting you know
• Prevent you from adjusting your thermostats whenever you want
