I have the Hilo EV charging solution but not Hilo thermostats. What can I do to reduce my household electricity use during peak events and save more on my winter bill?

  • You can manually lower your thermostat setpoints by a few degrees during peak events — from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. for morning events, and from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. for evening events
  • Let Hilo manage your charging station. Avoid starting a charge manually during a peak event, as this will deactivate Hilo’s automation for the rest of the event.
  • Limit your hot water use during peak events.
  • Avoid using energy-intensive appliances.
