How is the amount I’m eligible to receive for my EV charging station’s participation calculated?

For each peak event, a maximum consumption limit — also called your baseline consumption — is calculated for your home based on your average energy use over the past few days, with adjustments for the outdoor temperature on the day of the event.

You’ll receive a bill credit based on the number of kilowatt-hours you didn’t use — in other words, the energy curtailed compared to your typical consumption.

Since EV charging is energy-intensive, choosing not to charge your vehicle during a peak event can increase the amount of energy counted as “not used,” and therefore increase your potential credit.
