How do I connect Sinopé devices to Hilo?

Installation happens in three simple steps*:

1. Download and set up the Hilo mobile app

2. Install your Hilo hub

3. Pair your compatible Sinopé devices

*Already a Hilo customer? Jump straight to step 3.

1. Downloading and setting up the Hilo mobile app

a) Download and install the Hilo app on your mobile device, and (alt : then) complete your registration using the email address you provided to Hilo.

b) Use the activation code sent by email to confirm your email address.

c) Follow the instructions to complete your registration, then create your smart home by selecting Start.

d) Once you’ve finished creating your smart home, wait a few seconds for the app to display this message: "Your hub will be brought by your installer or sent by mail." This means your app is ready to use.

e) Proceed with your hub installation by following the instructions in Step 2.

2. Installing the Hilo hub

a) First, connect the hub to your modem or router using the Ethernet cable provided. Then plug the power adapter into a wall outlet and connect it to the hub.

b) Wait for the hub’s indicator light to turn green*.

c) In the Hilo app, go to the screen showing the message "Your hub will be brought by your installer or sent by mail," then select Synchronize my hub, and tap Start to scan the data matrix code located on the back of the hub.

d) Point your phone’s camera at the code. If you’re unable to scan it, select Enter info manually and follow the on-screen instructions.

e) You’ll see the message "Your hub has successfully scanned!" once the sync is complete.

*Your hub may perform a software update after being plugged in. In this case, the indicator light will blink white, then turn purple. The update takes about 15 minutes. The light will turn green once the update is complete.

3. Pairing your Hilo-compatible Sinopé devices

Important: If Firefox is your phone’s default browser, you may need to adjust your settings before pairing a Sinopé device. click here to learn how. Otherwise, please proceed with the steps outlined below.

Before adding a compatible Sinopé device to the Hilo app:

1. Have the compatible device(s) installed.
2. Create an account in Sinopé’s Neviweb mobile app.
3. Pair the installed device(s) to that account.

To add the device(s) to the Hilo app:

1. Open the Hilo app and go to the Devices
2. Tap the + in the top right corner of the screen.
3. Tap Add a device.
4. Select Thermostat or Water heater.
5. Choose the brand of your Hilo-compatible device(s).
6. Tap Connect to my account.
7. Tap Accept.
8. Sign into your account in the Sinopé Neviweb app.
9. If prompted, confirm your consent.
10. Select the devices you’d like to add, then confirm.
11. When the message "Devices have been added!" appears, you can close the Neviweb app.
12. Back in the Hilo app, your new devices will now appear as tiles on the Devices
