Peak demand events

I’m not receiving peak event notifications on my Android phone. How can I fix this?

To receive notifications, make sure the Hilo app is allowed to run in the background. Here’s a general process that works for many Android models (note that menu names may vary slightly depending on your device):

First, check notification settings

  • Open your phone’s Settings.
  • Tap Apps, then select Hilo.
  • Make sure Notifications are enabled.

Then, allow background activity

  • Still in Settings, go to Battery and device care.
  • Tap Battery, then Background usage limits (or simply Limits).
  • Ensure Hilo is not listed under Sleeping apps or Deep sleeping apps.
  • Add Hilo to Never sleeping apps or Unmonitored apps.
