What happens to my water heater during peak events? 

Just like with thermostats, Hilo takes care of everything for you during peak events and will cut power to your water heater.

If the built-in sensor detects that the water temperature drops too low, the controller will automatically restore power to the water heater to help prevent the risk of bacterial growth.
