Connect your Sinopé devices to Hilo at no cost¹ to save energy and take part in automation during peak demand events — plus, receive a bonus of up to $210 for each compatible Sinopé device connected to Hilo.
Do you have Sinopé smart devices at home? If they’re listed below, they’re compatible with Hilo. Add them to the Hilo app to receive a cash bonus and have them take part in automation during peak demand events.
The average potential savings amount is based on the actual consumption of Hilo customers who used a smart water heater solution during tests carried out in the 2024–2025 winter season and is calculated on the basis of 100 hours of participation or 25 peak demand events. Potential savings represent the difference between Rate Flex D and the base rate (Rate D), including applicable taxes. Savings with the smart water heater solution may vary depending on the water heater model and household hot water use during peak demand events.
Hilo works with Hydro-Québec’s Rate Flex D, which helps you save all winter long—except during peak demand events, when you need to reduce your electricity use to maintain your savings. To help you lower your consumption during these times, Hilo automatically manages your connected devices.
All compatible Sinopé smart devices can be managed remotely via the Hilo mobile app, giving you centralized control over all your smart devices. Convenient!

Once you’ve signed up for Hilo, installed the Hilo app and gateway, and your compatible Sinopé devices are set up, all that’s left to do is add them to the Hilo app.
1 With a 12-month commitment to participate in automation during peak demand events, and acceptance of the Participant Agreement.
2 Financial assistance is offered to Hilo participants who meet and accept the terms of the financial assistance program. This requires adding all eligible connected devices to the Hilo app and committing to participate in automation during peak demand events for 12 months. Financial assistance will be issued to the client in the weeks following connecting their devices to the Hilo app and accepting the agreement. Financial assistance is issued only once per eligible connected device. The number of devices eligible for financial assistance is limited. For more details, see the financial assistance program.
