That depends on your preferences and the configuration of your home. You can decide to enable preheating ahead of a peak event — or not — based on what works best for your comfort.

Feel free to try out different settings throughout the season to find the right balance. In some cases, cancelling your nighttime setback (that is, skipping your usual overnight temperature reduction) may help — and could even eliminate the need for preheating.
