This average is derived from data spanning the last three winter seasons (2022–2025) and is calculated on the basis of 100 hours of participation or 25 peak demand events. Potential savings represent the difference between Rate Flex D and the base rate (Rate D), including applicable taxes. Savings with the smart heating solution may vary depending on factors such as the exact number of thermostats associated with the solution, home characteristics, energy-use habits, the rate of participation in peak demand events, and weather conditions.

*Smart water heater controllers
The average potential savings amount is based on the actual consumption of Hilo customers who used a smart water heater solution during tests carried out in the 2024–2025 winter season and is calculated on the basis of 100 hours of participation or 25 peak demand events. Potential savings represent the difference between Rate Flex D and the base rate (Rate D), including applicable taxes. Savings with the smart water heater solution may vary depending on the water heater model and household hot water use during peak demand events. 

*Electric vehicule charging station
The average potential savings amount is based on the actual consumption of Hilo customers who used a smart EV charging solution during the 2024–2025 winter season and is calculated on the basis of 100 hours of participation or 25 peak demand events. Potential savings represent the difference between Rate Flex D and the base rate (Rate D), including applicable taxes. Savings with the smart EV charging solution may vary depending on factors such as vehicle type, driving habits, charging patterns, and the rate of participation in peak demand events.
