Hilo works with Hydro-Québec’s Rate Flex D, which helps you save all winter long—except during peak demand events, when you need to reduce your electricity use to maintain your savings. To help you lower your consumption during these times, Hilo automatically manages your connected devices.
During peak demand events, Hilo manages your connected thermostats based on your preferences. Outside those periods, you can adjust your settings or control your thermostats remotely using the Mysa app.

Once you’ve signed up for Hilo, have the app and gateway set up, and your Mysa thermostats are installed, all that’s left to do is add them to the Hilo app.

² Financial assistance is offered to Hilo participants who meet and accept the terms of the financial assistance program. 3 The average potential savings amount is based on the actual consumption of Hilo customers who used a smart water heater solution during tests carried out in the 2024–2025 winter season and is calculated on the basis of 100 hours of participation or 25 peak demand events. Potential savings represent the difference between Rate Flex D and the base rate (Rate D), including applicable taxes. Savings with the smart water heater solution may vary depending on the water heater model and household hot water use during peak demand events.
