The offer consists of a 20 percent discount applied towards the total amount of your shopping cart upon subscribing to the Hilo smart home service, which requires a commitment to participate in Hilo challenges for a period of 36 months. This offer cannot be combined with any other promotional offer, including any recommendation program, and cannot be used more than once per address or per Hydro-Québec account number. To take advantage of the Hilo smart home service and its offers, the participant must satisfy the following conditions listed below:
(i) commit to participate in Hilo challenges for a period of thirty-six (36) months;
(ii) be a Hydro-Québec customer who is responsible or jointly responsible for a Rate D contract (base rate) without the winter credit option, or be a proxyholder for said customer, as a renter or owner of a residence in which the Hilo smart home service will be installed;
(iii) own connected devices acquired from Hilo, or devices that are compatible and approved by Hydro-Québec (visit the hiloenergie.com website to see which devices are compatible and approved by Hydro-Québec);
(iv) own a smart mobile device on which the Hilo mobile application can be downloaded and used (visit the hiloenergie.com website to see compatible models).
Note: Said device is not included in the Hilo smart home service. Standard text and data fees apply for all notifications and remote access using the Internet or a mobile network.
To take advantage of Hilo’s smart home service and its offers, the participant must ensure their residence satisfies the conditions listed below.
The participant’s residence must:
(i) be equipped with a Hydro-Québec communicating meter;
(ii) be equipped with electrical systems that comply at all times with applicable electrical standards and laws in effect;
(iii) have a high-speed Internet connection, a wireless network (such as Zigbee, Wi-Fi, or some other type) and a free and functional Ethernet port on a modem or router;
(iv) be a single-family home, a semi-detached home or townhouse, or a residence located in a building containing two or more residences;
(v) be located in a municipality in which the Hilo smart home service is offered (visit the hiloenergie.com website for more information).
An offer related to the Hilo smart home service may be accompanied by a credit. In such a case, this credit corresponds to the difference between (a) the total current sale price of the connected devices and the hub (if applicable) and (b) the amount invoiced to the participant (before any discount, if applicable). The credit is Hilo’s responsibility unless the agreement is cancelled. If the agreement is cancelled, and if there is a credit balance remaining in the participant’s account, this balance becomes immediately due and payable by the participant. The credit balance is calculated based on an equalized monthly discount over a 36-month period starting on the day the credit, or a part of it, is added to the participant’s account. If applicable, the amount of the credit balance to be paid by the participant will be increased by an amount equivalent to the taxes due.
