Does signing up for Hilo’s hot water heater solution mean that I won’t have hot water during challenges?

You will still have hot water during Hilo challenges; it’s just the electricity to your hot water heater that gets shut off.

People with a 60-gallon water heater set with a 60°C thermostat have 273 litres of hot water mixed at 40°C. That’s enough water for several reasonably timed showers.

Please note that your hot water consumption habits will affect the amount of hot water available throughout the challenge, which may also vary according to the capacity of your specific water heater.
