Which features of my Sinopé Calypso are available in the Hilo app?

These features are available in the Hilo mobile app:

• Water temperature display 
• Real-time energy consumption 
• Water heater on/off control  
• Automatic participation in peak demand events

When your Calypso smart controller is connected to the Hilo app, it operates like the Hilo smart solution for water heaters. It automatically manages participation in peak demand events by turning off during the temporary interruption phase. You can still use hot water, though only in moderate amounts. If your hot water usage is too high during a peak demand event, the water heater will turn back on. Outside peak demand events, when you use a significant amount of hot water, you will receive a notification in the Hilo app. The alert will disappear when the new water in the tank is hot. 

If the system doesn’t function as described above, you must have your water heater or controller checked and get in touch with the manufacturer. 

Outside peak demand events, the controller will not automatically restart the water heater if you’ve turned it off manually, even if the restart temperature of peak events is reached. 

We don’t recommend turning off your water heater for short periods. This could leave you without hot water and won’t necessarily lead to additional savings.
