Why isn’t the smart solution for water heaters recommended for water heaters that are over 10 years old?

Most insurance companies no longer cover water damage caused by water heaters that are more than 10 years old. That’s why, in most cases, the water heater will have to be replaced. We recommend replacing it before implementing the smart solution.

When replacing a water heater, the temperature probe on the controller must also be replaced. Replacement probes are available at no cost. To order one, contact our customer services. The probe will be mailed to you, and you can either install it yourself or have it installed by a professional.
