To operate in air-convector mode, the thermostat must be connected to both phases of the heater's electrical supply. If one of the phases is not available in the electrical wall box, the Hilo installer will not be able to install the Smart Thermostat.

Be sure you’ve downloaded the app and created your Hilo account.

3. Thermostat interface

4. Changing the settings

To access the advanced menus, press and hold the square button (13) for three seconds. Then, press this button to scroll through the menus.

  • Menu 10: Zigbee connectivity (ON or OFF)
  • Menu 20: Temperature format (°C or °F)
  • Menu 30: Fan heater mode (ON or OFF)
  • Menu 40: Keypad lock (ON or OFF)
  • Menu 50: Open window detection (ON or OFF) — only if lobby mode has not been activated
  • Menu 60: Backlight intensity in sleep mode Reset to default menu (dEF)

5. Initial run

Set the basic settings

  • Temperature format (°C or °F)
  • Forced-fan mode (ON or OFF)
  • Lobby mode — with forced fan operation only

6. Pairing the thermostat

  1. Press the button on the gateway. The indicator light will turn blue and blink slowly.
  2. To activate pairing mode, press and hold the square button (13) on the thermostat for three seconds. The screen will start to blink.
  3. Press the arrow (12) to the right of the button until the screen displays ON, then press the square button (13).
  4. The network icon is displayed in the upper left-hand corner of the screen. It will blink until the thermostat is connected to the gateway.
    NOTE : If no Zigbee network is detected, the thermostat will display the message “Err.” Make sure the gateway is in pairing mode (step 7.1.) and repeat the procedure.
  5. When the network icon disappears and you see °C (or °F) on the screen, hold the square button down for three seconds. The display will stop blinking and the room temperature will be displayed. The network icon will once again be visible in the upper left-hand corner.
  6. Wait about 30 seconds, then refresh the Devices screen in the Hilo app by swiping your finger down from the top of the screen. You should see that the thermostat has been added. Refresh the screen several times as needed.
  7. Pairing is now complete. Repeat the procedure for each thermostat, then press the gateway button to exit pairing mode.
