Why did Hilo modify its smart water heater solution after the beta project?

The Hilo smart water heater solution is a complex product, particularly because of the public health requirements we’re required to meet. 

During the beta phase of the project, installing the Hilo solution necessitated purchasing a compatible HydroSense water heater and setting up several additional components.

This beta project enabled allowed us to gain valuable insights into the various components of the water heater solution. The Hilo team subsequently focused on streamlining and enhancing the solution, in alignment with Quebec’s public health guidelines. The result is a new smart water heater solution that eliminates the need for systematically replacing your existing water heater or adding numerous extra components.

We invite those who participated in the beta project to contact Hilo customer service so we can schedule a visit from an electrician to upgrade the solution for you, free of charge. Additional equipment installed on your water heater as part of the beta project will remain installed after the visit.
