Why did Hilo change its smart water heater solution after the beta project?

The beta project gave us valuable insights into every component of the smart water heater solution. The version tested during the beta phase was ultimately not selected for long-term use due to several factors, including a complex installation process, temperature-related issues, and the need to replace the water heater.

To simplify and improve the overall experience, Hilo collaborated with multiple teams to develop a new smart water heater solution that no longer requires replacing the existing water heater.

If you participated in the beta project, we invite you to contact Hilo’s customer service team so we can schedule a free visit from a certified electrician to upgrade your setup. The equipment installed during the beta project will remain in place after the update.
