I have the water heater controller but no Hilo thermostats

How can I reduce my home’s electricity use during peak events and save more on my winter bill?

  • Manually lower the setpoint temperature on your thermostats by a few degrees during peak events — from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. for morning events, and from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. for evening ones.
  • Let Hilo take care of your water heater! Avoid adjusting the controller during a peak event — otherwise, it will no longer be automated by Hilo for the rest of the event.
  • If you have a home EV charging station, avoid charging your electric vehicle during a peak event.
  • Try to avoid using energy-intensive appliances during peak events.
