What do I do when a water heater must be replaced?

When you replace a water heater, you don’t have to replace the controller. Your plumber can use the electrical cable from the existing controller to power the new system. However, you must replace the temperature probe.

Replacement probes are available at no cost. To order one, contact our customer services. The probe will be mailed to you, and you can either install it yourself or have it installed by a professional. An installation guide is available online.

A master electrician hired by Hilo can replace the probe for a fee of $150 (plus taxes).
