Will Hilo’s smart water heater solution leave me without hot water during challenges?

No. Even though your water heater’s power is turned off during Hilo challenges, you’ll still have access to hot water.

For example, a 60-gallon (imperial) tank set to 60°C can provide around 438 litres of mixed water at 40°C — enough for several reasonably timed showers.

That said, the actual amount of hot water available during a challenge depends on your household’s usage habits and the size of your water heater.
