The load indicator light is flashing red. What should I do?
A flashing red load indicator light could indicate a power surge or a temperature sensor error. Perform the following to correct the situation:
- Disconnect the sensor wire (similar to a phone wire), wait about 10 seconds, then reconnect it to the load controller. The load indicator light should stop flashing after a few seconds. If it doesn’t, proceed to step 2.
- Switch the water heater circuit breaker on your electrical panel to the OFF position, wait about 30 seconds, then switch it back to the ON position. Wait a few seconds, then check the status of the load indicator light. If it’s still flashing, contact Hilo Technical Support.
